Scott Lambiase Appointed Town Administrator as Recreation Commission Drafts New Memorial Gift Policy

The Kingston Recreation Commission meeting opened with a significant announcement regarding the town's permanent leadership. Missy shared the update that the board has selected a successor for the Town Administrator role, noting that the appointee, Scott Lambiase, is currently the Abington Town Administrator. He seems like a great guy. He seems like he'll do exactly what I think we all are hoping for in the town, Missy remarked, adding that he is expected to begin his tenure in January. While the department awaits the new administrator’s formal budget process, the commission remains focused on winter programming and the upcoming Luminary event scheduled for December 20.

Holiday preparations are in full swing for the Luminary celebration, which will feature local musical talent and family activities. The Recreation Director explained that the event will include performances by the elementary and high school choruses as well as the jazz band. Brandy is coordinating all the downstairs, all the games and art activities... she’s going to do like a winter wonderland theme, the Director noted. In addition to the festivities, the commission is looking ahead to the summer season. Motion Made by Pat to put forward the Samson fund request for community events in the amount of $5,000. Vote Passed 5-0. These funds will ensure that Gray's Beach continues to host entertainment for residents during the warmer months.
